What is 13 Reasons why ? You've already heard of it for sure, and certainly already watched it too.
Story
Thirteen Reasons Why, based on the best-selling book by Jay Asher, follows teenager Clay Jensen (Dylan Minnette) as he returns home from school to find a mysterious box with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers a group of cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker (Katherine Langford) -his classmate and crush-who tragically committed suicide two weeks earlier. On tape, Hannah unfolds an emotional audio diary, detailing the thirteen reasons why she decided to end her life. Through Hannah and Clay's dual narratives, Thirteen Reasons Why weaves an intricate and heartrending story of confusion and desperation that will deeply affect viewers.
The serie, written by Brian Yorky, produced by Selena Gomez, and launched on Netflix; 13 Reasons Why has been a real success. Even though author Jay Asher wrote only one book of this story, everyone had the same question at the end of season 1 : will there be a season 2 ?
Rumors have been growing wild, and due to the huge success of the serie, it may motivate the team to write a sequel. Indeed, some clues could lead to say a season 2 will be announced soon. First, Jay Asher admited he would'nt be against a second season. But the biggest rumor that fans heard about, is that Ross Butler (who plays Zach Dempsey in 13 Reasons Why) said he was leaving the other Netflix TV show "Riverdale", although Riverdale season 2 has been announced, because he said he had a too busy schedule.
Can this mysterious busy other project be 13 Reasons Why season 2 ? I guess we will know soon enough !
Then, what could be the topic of this new season ? Well if you haven't finished the serie yet, don't read the following line, because it may spoil you some parts of the story !
The most logical sequel would be about Tyler, you know, the photographer who keeps taking pictures of everyone and of Hannah at her house through her window, because he was in love with her.
Throughout the episodes, we can see he's being bullied too at school. He doesn't really have friends either. And he looks pretty angry almost all the time.
And toward the end, we can see him getting a gun, and we discover a real arsenal hidden in his room. Which, won't be used in this season, so we could wonder why they showed us all of that ? He also has individual pictures of his classmates, hanged in his room, like targets... As we learn that Alex tried to shoot himself, Tyler removes Alex' picture... Made me wonder if he hasn't even shot him himself !
Will season 2 be about a high school mass shooting ? It is sadly common facts in USA, and a very sensitive topic, since the students who do that may be in a huge pain.
I wouldn't like to see a mass shooting in a TV show... But maybe we won't (and don't need to) see it though. Maybe it won't even happen because someone will manage to "save" Tyler from this madness and save him from his pain. But it could be interesting to see how Tyler actually could end having these dark ideas in mind, and how people around him will do (or not) something to stop that.
