✘ Les "Ring" ont toujours été très lucratifs en commençant par la version japonaise originale de 1998 (inspiré du roman de Kôji Suzuki), au cinéma, avec une recette de 8 millions de dollars, pour un budget de seulement 1,2 millions.
S'en sont suivi les remakes américains "Ring" (avec 249 millions de dollars de recette pour 45 millions de budget) et "Ring 2" (avec 328 millions de dollars de recette pour un budget de 48 millions seulement).
Ce nouveau film "Rings" sera donc une suite, et non pas un préquel, comme annoncé au début du projet.
On y retrouvera un nouveau casting; Naomi Watts (Ring 1 et 2) ne sera pas de la partie cette fois-ci, et laissera la place à Matilda Lutz, une jeune actrice italienne

Julia (Matilda Lutz) s'inquiète de son petit ami, Holt (Alex Roe), lorsqu'il explore la légende urbaine et sombre d'une vidéo mystérieuse disant de tuer l'observateur sept jours après avoir vu. Elle s'est sacrifiée pour le sauver en faisant ainsi une découverte horrifiante: il ya un «film dans le film» que personne n'a jamais vu auparavant.
Plot :
13 years after the events of the first chapters of the horror franchise.
Julia (Matilda Lutz) becomes worried about her boyfriend, Holt (Alex Roe), when he explores the dark urban legend of a mysterious video said to kill the watcher seven days after viewing. She sacrificed herself to save him an in doing so, makes a horrifying discovery : there is a "movie within the movie" that no one has ever seen before.
✘ De longs cheveux noirs, une gamine flippante qui murmure des choses, une vieille vidéo de mauvaise qualité...
Samara (la terrible petite fille) n'en a donc pas fini avec vous. Sa vengeance n'est toujours pas assouvie, et elle n'a toujours pas oublié ou pardonné.
